A Yogic Path

My journey began early on with a natural talent for coordination and curiosity for cosmic knowledge. What I did not realize when I was younger, is that a focus on breath is a gateway to healing.

Fortunate to have abundant opportunities singing and dancing that trained my breath awareness early on, later formative years unearthed unexpected talent as a sharp shooter. Highlighting my innate affinity for body/mind attunement, my naturally heightened senses of interoception and proprioception set me up for success.

A lifetime theatre girl at heart who happened to have good aim, I buried my nose books that included astrology (before it was a trendy topic.) I still love being immersed in mystical philosophy! Following footsteps of a gifted maternal-line inherited intuition, my interest in esoteric studies has only increased. In 2009, I moved on from a decade of coffee shop management into full-time journalism as Pittsburgh Correspondent for Courthouse News Service. At this time, I was also drawn to work with the body movement connection promised with wellness and exercise benefits with yoga. As my practice evolved to understand metaphysical connections, traditional studies, meditation, pranayama and breath work, the entire practice itself became a vital part of my every-day life..

Deepening my own practice led to transformative trainings as a teacher and healer. True transformation is challenging and, the unexpected yet required release of what was not-really-meant for me, left me raw. Living through multiple (6) concussions in my 30s alongside unemployment, home displacement/uncertainty, no active third space or networks, even friend and family abandonment over a decade of my life was all nothing less than life altering. Before it all happened, I would have said none of it could have. My belief in my perspective-created reality at the time included people-pleasing tendencies with a hyper-viligant nervous system, and had me taking on too much responsibility for everyone else’s feelings. Becoming aware of my ability to detach yet offer compassion via empathy is a skill that I needed to hone in order to offer genuinely without sacrificing my own worth.

Becoming a healer required “unbecoming” anything disingenuous in order to re-birth my most authentic self. I needed to understand surrender and how we co-create, to be truthful and genuinely embrace my own experiences. Offering self-compassion before any outward expression. Now, it seems almost miraculous to have so much space to be grateful for trials and tribulations. Entirely prepared with a well-earned readiness for whatever comes my way.

Especially excited to guide anyone else also seeking an authentic path !

As a decades tenured theater teaching artist working in Pittsburgh, I believe that the “best” teachers are really mostly just very dedicated students. We share our own practice in hopes that it might help another along their path (in the ways that our teachers helped us and their teachers helped them and on and on and on…)

On this path as yoga teacher and mystic healer, I marked my first yoga certification in 2013 with nearly a dozen more teaching and healing modalities added through the last decade. My first advanced yoga certification was awarded in 2023 with a Reiki Master certification in Summer 2024. Now teaching yoga full-time, offering private yoga and reiki sessions and certified to train new teachers. It is a privilege and honor to walk alongside you on your path to healing.
